Day One Access
Opting In or Out of Course Materials
How to Opt In or Out of Your Course Materials
The Fall 2026 opt-out deadline is August 25, 2026
You can opt out, or opt back in, any time through the end of the day on August 25. Beginning August 26 the charge is final and cannot be reversed.
Before You Opt Out - Please Read
Day One Access is optional, and you are free to leave the program. Before you do, understand what changes:
- Opting out is all or nothing at CBC. Central Baptist College's program does not permit partial opt-outs. You cannot opt out of the materials for one course and stay in the program for your other courses. Clicking Opt Out removes you from the program for every course on your schedule.
- You become responsible for obtaining all of your own course materials, at your own expense and at regular retail prices, in time to complete your assignments.
- You lose access to everything provided through the program - including graded courseware platforms such as MindTap, Connect, MyLab, Mastering, and Hawkes. If your instructor grades work inside one of those platforms, you will have to purchase your own access separately, usually for more than the program rate.
- Any printed materials you have already received must be returned to Textbook Brokers at 201 Donaghey Ave, Conway, AR 72035, BEFORE you are able to opt out.
- Your charge is removed from your student account. If financial aid was covering your materials, you will now pay out of pocket instead.
If you are opting out because of a problem (like a book you cannot open, a format you do not like, or an item you think you already own) please email us first. Most of those situations have a fix that does not require leaving the program.
How to Opt Out
Opt-outs are submitted inside My Courses, the same platform where you access your materials. They are not submitted through this website, by email, or by contacting the CBC Business Office.
Note: Because CBC's program is all-or-nothing, opting out from any single item opts you out of the entire program. You do not need to repeat the process for each course.
How to Opt Back In
Changed your mind? Any time through the end of the day on August 25, you can reverse your decision yourself.
Your materials and your charge are both restored. Digital access typically returns within a few minutes; if you have printed materials, we will contact you about picking them up.
Reading Your Item Cards
Each material in My Courses appears on its own card. Every card shows three things:
| On the card | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Content type | Whether the item is an eBook, courseware, or a print item |
| Instructions indicator | Click View Details for the access instructions for that specific item |
| Opt status | Whether you are currently opted in or opted out |
The banner across the top of the page shows how much time remains in the opt-out window. Once that window closes, the Opt Out and Want to Opt In links disappear and no further changes can be made.
Opt-Out FAQs
A: No. Central Baptist College's Day One Access program is all-or-nothing. Opting out applies to every course on your schedule.
A: The most common reasons are that the opt-out window has closed, or that you reached My Courses outside of the Canvas Day One Access link. Go back through Canvas and try again. If the deadline has not passed and you still cannot find it, email us with a screenshot.
A: The opt-out records immediately in My Courses. Textbook Brokers notifies the CBC Business Office of opt-outs on an ongoing basis, and your student account is adjusted from there. Digital access is turned off shortly after you confirm.
A: Return them to Textbook Brokers, 201 Donaghey Ave, Conway, AR 72035, by August 25 - the same day the opt-out window closes. (This is different from the Dec. 11 rental return deadline, which applies to students who stay in the program.) Contact us at jlove@textbookbrokers.com to arrange the return. Materials not returned are charged to your student account at replacement cost.
A: The August 25 deadline is firm and the charge cannot be reversed after it passes. Textbook Brokers cannot process a late opt-out. If you believe there are extenuating circumstances affecting your student account, that is a billing question for the CBC Business Office.
A: You are welcome to purchase from Textbook Brokers at regular retail pricing, or from any retailer you choose. Look up your course materials list at cbctextbooks.com. Be aware that some courseware platforms are only sold at full retail, and a few adopted titles have no retail equivalent available to individual buyers.
